Everywhere At Once: Manchester's Grassroots Venues Take Centre Stage This Weekend

While Glastonbury lies fallow, Manchester's independent venue network is hosting one of the most ambitious live music weekends in British history.

25 June 2026Manchester

Manchester doesn't need a reason to fill its grassroots venues. But Everywhere At Once — the nationwide live music weekend powered by The National Lottery and Music Venue Trust — gives the city's scene a national moment to shine. Running from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 June 2026, the festival takes place simultaneously across more than 400 grassroots venues across the UK. Manchester is one of its beating hearts. ## Manchester's Venues This Weekend Rebellion, YES, New Century Hall, The Peer Hat, The Talleyrand, Matt & Phreds, Soup Kitchen and The Star and Garter are all hosting shows under the Everywhere At Once banner this weekend. Between them they represent everything that makes Manchester's music scene one of the most vital in the world — from jazz and electronic to post-punk and indie. Matt & Phreds, the Northern Quarter jazz institution, is a particularly special entry this weekend. There are few better rooms in the north of England to watch live music, and Everywhere At Once is exactly the kind of event it was built for. ## Why This Weekend Matters More than half of UK grassroots venues made no profit last year. Thirty closed permanently between 2024 and 2025. Manchester has lost venues too — and the ones that remain are fighting. Everywhere At Once is a national show of force for the grassroots network, powered by over £1 billion in National Lottery funding for music across the UK. Manchester's scene has always punched above its weight. This weekend it's doing it again — on every stage, simultaneously, for one extraordinary three-day moment.
