Hatchie

Harriette Pilbeam — performing as Hatchie — makes dream pop that sounds like falling in love and losing it at the same time. The Brisbane artist emerged in 2018 with a run of singles that immediately drew comparisons to the great shoegaze and dream pop acts of the late 80s and early 90s, and she has spent the years since refining that sound into something completely her own. Her debut album Keepsake arrived in 2019 to widespread acclaim. Giving the World Away in 2022 pushed further — more electronic, more ambitious, still unmistakably Hatchie. She has built an international following who respond to the emotional directness of her music. Hatchie is one of Brisbane's most quietly important musical exports.
