The Jungle Giants

About

The Jungle Giants have spent over a decade proving that Brisbane indie rock can travel. Formed in 2011 by four friends from Mansfield State High School — Sam Hales, Cesira Aitken, Andrew Dooris and Keelan Bijker — the band carved their own distinct path through the Brisbane scene that also produced Ball Park Music and Cub Sport. Their sound has evolved significantly across four albums — from sun-drenched indie guitar pop to something more electronic and groove-driven, always anchored by Hales' sharp songwriting and Aitken's luminous guitar work. Love Signs, their 2021 album, found them fully inhabiting a new sonic identity without losing what made them special in the first place. The Jungle Giants are a band that rewards attention. Their catalogue is deeper than casual listeners realise, their live show is genuinely great, and their commitment to craft over trend is the kind of thing you only appreciate more over time.
