Violent Soho are Brisbane rock royalty. The four-piece from Mansfield — Luke Boerdam, James Tidswell, Luke Henery and Michael Hardy — spent years building a following on the Brisbane circuit before Hungry Ghost in 2013 announced them to the country as something special. Their 2016 album WACO debuted at number one. Covered in Chrome, Like Soda, Dope Calypso — songs that hit with the force of a Brisbane summer storm and lodged themselves permanently in the Australian rock canon. Everything Is A-OK in 2020 was their second consecutive number one debut. After entering an indefinite hiatus in 2022, Violent Soho announced their return in 2026 with a three-date Australian headline tour — Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane — with Beddy Rays supporting all shows. The comeback has been one of the most anticipated moments in Australian rock this year. They are one of the bands that made Brisbane's live music scene what it is. The venues they built their career in — The Zoo, The Triffid, The Tivoli — are the same venues that the next generation is building theirs in now.
